Thanks for checking the blog today!

I wanted to take some time today to talk to you about why I started my business. After a struggle with infertility I had finally had my beautiful rainbow baby P. We prayed for that little boy for 5 long years. We were over the moon when he arrived. That is when I picked up my first DSLR camera. I gotta tell ya, looking back at the photos I took of him as a little one I was not the best at it. I just had a passion for it. That my friends is what triggered me to learn more and more about photography. And as he grew and we added more children to our family my passion just soared. I dived into learning camera settings, learning about the best light and editing. My love for photography, my children and some beautiful friends who have asked me to take their children's portraits over the years has truly inspired me to take action and start this business. I could not have done it without them believing in me.

Like this family. I was so fortunate to take both of their children's Senior portraits. We had a blast planning and shooting. I loved the extra time were able to have together.

I am so thankful to have these opportunities to capture the beautiful connections between families and the beautiful person that is uniquely you. I look forward to meeting you and your family to capture your next season in life.

Have a beautiful day!

Graduation https://www.taraemersonphotography.com/blog/2019/4/graduation Graduation is coming up soon!! Its such an emotional time for the graduates and their parents. I have been there already. One thing I would do differently about my own childs graduation is hiring a photographer. I know, I know.... I should have know better but very plainly I thought I could do it all! Turns out I couldn't. I was lucky enough to be able to go in after graduation to take some individual photos. The tough part is getting those photos when everyone is around. Its such a beautiful time when all the cousin, aunts and uncles and grandparents are TOGETHER! Its such a waste to not have any photographs of the event.

Family

Its also super fun to get the grad in on some really amazing photos. The one below is one of my faves of a college graduate!

College grad

Congratulations to all the graduates!! I wish you many blessings on your new journey in life!

Patriotism https://www.taraemersonphotography.com/blog/2016/11/patriotism

My first ever blog is a tribute to my beloved Great Grandfather. I couldn't imagine a more worthy start. We said our final goodbye on Friday. He was the ultimate patriot in everything he did right up until his final days. I write this now with the election coming tomorrow because Grandpa understood the importance of being heard in such a simple act. We are given such an incredible freedom that so many Americans take for granted or complain about or that chose NOT to vote. It is a responsibility that we should not take lightly. This choice that we make in the US will effect our country's history forever! Elections should not perpetuate hate they should spark great conversation and ideas about how to improve and set new goals for our country. This is our life! Grandpa was always up to date on foreign policy and most politics.  He had a sense of patriotism that a younger generation does not understand. You do not have to hate or dislike someone just because they share different opinions. He was always up for a good discussion on politics and was always respectful. The world is truly going to miss a man like him. I know his family will.

Thank you to everyone that came and helped us celebrate Tom Nord's 94 years of life. He will never be forgotten and always loved. Pray for America
